I'm Andrea, a product designer, originally from Colombia, living and creating in Toronto, ON.
I'm a major in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto, with a minor in Business, specialized in Human Factors. I focus on creating experiences that put people and their stories first.
Currently working as a UX Designer at TurboTax, Intuit.
After hours I’m an artist (ask me about my medium!), boxer, and a concert enthusiast always on the lookout for new favourite music albums.

I like having a conversation
with the client and other stakeholders in the project to find out all the details and tasks. But also, to start building a story behind the project to guide my design choices. From the start, I want to understand the purpose of my work.

BRIEFING

For me this is one of the most exciting parts and where I can do all my "messy first drafts". I enjoy thinking outside of the box, and really trying to put myself in the shoes of my future user. I want to visualize their experience to the best of my abilities.
BRAINSTORMING

This stage for me is crucial, and a constant process of iterative work. It is rewarding to start putting my work into concrete ideas. However, it is even more important for me to understand how the prototype can be improve every time.
PROTOTYPE

This step is sort of like a second brainstorming session, but more focused. It allows me to get insights from the users themselves. It is great feedback on how to make the design more functional. Learning from this data allows me to grow and understand what might be going wrong.
USABILITY TESTING

Design of all pages of the website with adaptation for all screens. Layout of design on the corresponding platform and the final release of the website/app. Another milestone!
